It was great to see so many 6th, 7th, and 8th grade families at our Family Night last week. A special thank-you to our teachers - Emily Knofcynzski, Josh Roza, Tom Knofcynski - for leading the evening and to Jodi Meyer for providing the content.
We encourage you all to pray as a family often and to Read more about our parish-wide theme: "Love God". You will also see many prayer guides and resources in our church bulletin, website, and church newsletter to help you along the way - especially if prayer isn't something your family has a lot of experience with.
A couple of reminders and some new things for this year:
Please make sure you COME IN to the church to pick up your students. In order to ensure the safety of all of the kids, we will not be letting the kids leave the building without a parent/guardian/whoever their ride is coming in to get them. Thank you for your understanding.
The doors will lock at 5:30 pm. If you are going to be late, please come around to the front door of the school, which is on the west side of the building on 119th street. In addition, if you need to pick your child up early, please come to the school door and speak with me or Cassie Baker and we will have your child come to the office.

Cool Catholic Things...
Pope Leo XIV made a four-day apostolic journey to France from September 25–28, 2026, visiting Paris, Saint-Denis, Lourdes, and Metz. The trip was his first visit to France as pope and the first papal visit to the country since 2008. He met with the president, discussed topics ranging from AI to protecting life from conception to natural death, and celebrated Vespers at the restored Notre-Dame Cathedral. France is known as "the church's oldest daughter" and has recently experienced a surge in people becoming Catholic, especially among young people aged 18-40.

Boys - Dress pants, dress shirt, dress shoes. Suit and/or tie is optional, but preferred.
Girls - White dress, shoes, tights. No gloves during ceremony, please. Veils optional.

Continue to work on your Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy to complete your required hours. Remember that Adoration can be done any day, any time - spending time with Jesus is one of the best things any of us can do with our time!
Some dates have shifted since we gave these packets out last January - please check with your child's teacher for updated due dates!
One More Thing...
Have your pets blessed on Oct 11 at St. John Vianney, at 1:00pm outside the church doors on the Sandoz side of the building. We have a great history in this special blessing of our pets. It is also great fun. Each animal will be individually blessed and there will be treats for both pets and people. Please have ALL dogs on leashes, and ALL other pets in cages (this includes cats). All creatures, great and small are welcome.
